Walnut Creek, California 94596 - Introduction: Smuin's 30th Anniversary Season kicks off with two favorites and a world premiere.
Audiences have been clamoring for the return of James Kudelka’s The Man in Black, a searing and emotional piece set to cover songs recorded by Johnny Cash. Also back onstage is longtime Smuin collaborator Val Caniparoli’s playful Tutto Eccetto il Lavandino (everything but the kitchen sink). Finally, we’re delighted to present Salsa ’til Dawn, a world premiere by ballet and Broadway choreographer Darrell Grand Moultrie to an original Cuban jazz score by composer Charles Fox.
