Material Girls

This show profiles two nationally known artists whose work has had little exposure in the Bay Area. Material Girls presents the work of Lynn Aldrich (Los Angeles) and Sabina Ott (Chicago), artists who work intensely with everyday, banal materials and transform them into distinctive artworks. Material Girls (riffing on Madonna’s song from the 1980s) will focus on the artists’ process and capacity to transform familiar materials or objects into artworks that are large-scale, enigmatic and astounding—with a touch of humor.
